The spoilt little girl
Here she is in her little seat.........
Lily's last bit of spoiling was her first pair of shoes. (complicated once again) they are called cruisers as she is cruising( walking holding onto things) therefore the shoes must still be very soft and flexible and not too small. her size is a 2 1/2 E. they are the cutest things LOOK.........
Otherwise all is well. We have been away to Lily's nana for the weekend which was nice bar the awful weather we are having. It may shock you but its raining again.
Lily is being a little charmer and has us in stitches. her new game is chasing me around the couch. she squeals with delight when she catches me and then head butts me for some reason. I am of course getting all my exercise this way. who knew crawling was such hard work. she is just so mobile now its frightening but she keeps us well and truly entertained.
On my weight loss front I lost 5 .5 pounds the week before last but stayed the same this week. I have lost over a stone now and am very chuffed. I am finally feeling a little more comfy and my baby belly is shrinking a bit. wow only 9 months for that to start happening
hers a few of the monkey chasing me

nana fi is up and running
I too have comment moderation ( see purple Ronnies blog) so no one nasty come on here!!
Well my mum now has her blog up and running and I have nearly pulled out all of my hair!
it started with me asking so whats your username and password?
she answers I don't know nanafi? so after much typing in of a variety of different usernames and passwords she finally remembered the right one and the rest as they say is history.
I have added her link on the left for anyone who wants to have a nosy. i hope you find her as amusing as I do.
We have had a fantastic day in London today. I have developed a love /hate relationship with London. It was the most glorious day today. clear skies and sun shining but not so hot that its unpleasant, just perfect. Mum , Lily and i set out on the train this morning into Victoria station. From there we took the bus to kensington gardens. I had to have photos taken for my dutch passport. this is the 4th set I have had done. all the others have been returned to me with a variety of unpleasant comments on them. this last one claimed my face was too wide! the last one claimed my ears were not visible. everytime i take them into my passport place and say no try this fork out a fiver and send them off. this time I have used their recommended photographer in kensington who charges £13 yes people £13 do any of you smell a rip off!! I am fuming and I better get the passport now as presently I am passportless and travelling in 65 sleeps!
Ok now my rant is over, after that we go into kensington gardens and we sat at the lake and fed the ducks. Lily was screaming at them. she loves birds flaps her arms around like a mad baby.she is so vocal at the moment she says mama , dada, nana , ye ye ba ba and various other sounds. She was delightful today and had a ball. We went to the princess Diana memorial fountain and splashed our feet which was great.
then we set off home . back to Victoria. It was filled with people and I mean filled. there had been some sort of fire so all the trains were being diverted from charing cross and London bridge leading to pandemonium. all the trains were being cancelled from Victoria for some reason and we waited and waited for a platform number for our train. It turns out that all the hundreds of people on the platform also wanted our train.
We had to squeeze onto it I was separated from mum as there was a seat and she has many ailments. I wanted lily safe so I gave her to mum and then i stood with the pram.then 40 people tried to squeeze onto the train. let me explain here that I am a very claustrophobic person. we were all sweating and I just wanted to kill everyone. then lily started to cry. we sat there for 15 min before the train departed. In short it was a nightmare and something i loathe about London. when the transport is good its very ,very good but when its bad its horrid.

going into labour soon? read this
I have a few readers that are going to go through labour quite soon. So Mari and Cath and later Caroline this is for you. I was reading magical beginnings ,Enchanted lives by Deepak Chopra and this bit really stood out for me. I wish I had had the book before I went through labour.
Birthing your way
There is no right or wrong way to birth your baby. As you move into the rigor of contractions , relinquish your attachment to how things should be and simply allow what is unfolding to occur.Be in your body and listen to what it needs. Flow with your breath and slow down. Take one contraction at a time and stay connected with your baby.Feel your support system around you. Listen to your needs, trust your instincts , and release into the process. release your worries and release your fears. stay present and trust that your birthing experience is unfolding exactly as it should.
from "magical beginnings, enchanted lives" Deepak Chopra
Sounds so simple but it can be difficult to remember that and not panic at times. I feel that that passage is vital in making birthing a positive experience. For me my attachment to the birth I tought I was going to have got in the way of the one i was having.
Good luck ladies and remember to breathe

Sorry Sue, I wished for it and i got it!
for weeks and weeks she has been on all fours rocking. then 2 days ago she moved her legs 3 times.
this morning we went to baby group. Lily was not much in the mood. wanted to sit on my lap all the time. Some stupid nanny who goes is trying to tell me to make her more independent , "rod for your own back". "they are manipulating you" etc came up blah blah ( but my feelings on all that are another post entirely!) anyhow we did the singing and did not even get a laugh with the okey kokey song!
then on arriving home I plonked her on the floor to use the loo and when i came out she was motering across the floor to get her blue duck!
Since then she has made it to the radiator to take the cap off. she loves the radiator! she has gone to the table pulled up and spilled all my ryvita on the floor. I could watch her all day. i am so excited for her. you can see how pleased she is as frustration was setting in so at 9 months and 2 days.LILY CRAWLS
I will post some photos of her later

a post of many things
Here I sit at 8:11 on the 13 May 2007 with little Lily next to me on the floor playing with all her favorite toys, her puzzle , her Fischer price balls, her maraca and the tissue box! It looks like a whirlwind has swept through and shredded all the tissue in the world and left it on my carpet.
Lily is 9 months today 39 weeks to be precise. In another 2 weeks and 1 day she would have been out in the world longer than she was inside my tummy. How the time has flown (she says again)
On the lily front I would love to say yay! she is crawling ,but , I will say Yay! she is semi crawling. As of yesterday before bed she did 3 little crawls to get something but any further and she just sits on her bum again. Perhaps by the end of the day I will be retracting that as she seems to be quite confident this morning.
She also is saying dada now. its so sweet as she says it with loads of spit flying in all directions. I have found this before with Lily she does no new things and then all of a sudden she is doing 3 new things at once.
Lily and I have been busy bees this week starting on Thursday when i decided we should go to bluewater shopping centre to escape the foul weather. this is how the day went. I get up and frantically run around trying to organise lunch for lily and then pack her bag for the day making sure I have wipes nappies nappy sacks and the like. I then dress her and plonk her on the bed with Kristian so I can go and shower. she fills her nappy so must undress her ,change the nappy, and dress again.
Ok now I shower and then get dressed put make up on and try not to look like a frazzled sleep deprived mother (which I am at the moment)... almost there now, so I put on Lily's socks ready to scoop her up and leave but , oh I need the toilet... come back , Lily has taken the socks off and is spinning them around her head like some sort of lasso....sigh.... put them on again and go to pick up the bag.. lasso lily...put them on pick her up and off we go.
At times I think just getting ready to go out is entertainment enough for 1 day.
anyhow we make is unscathed to bluewater. lily is in the buggy and off we go shopping.
At this juncture let me explain something about the british consumer culture. They are like hungry feral animals in search of their prey.
As an example, last week Anya hindmarch the handbag designer created a bag for sainsburys. It is calico with the slogan "I am not a plastic bag" on it. its all about bringing awareness to the plastic bag issue and packaging in general. It cost £5 and would be available in store. I thought "oh I will pick one up when I go into Salisbury's" little did I know that people queued all night outside the stores, the bags were sold out in 8 minutes and by the time I was having my morning cuppa people had closing bids on ebay for £150 yes people £150.
being a bit of a clothes lover myself I hear that Lily Allen has a range at new look and Kylie has one at hennes (H&M) and the ultimate Kate moss collection at top shop. On this particular Thursday the Kylie one and the Lily one are released. You can imagine the pandemonium as people clamber for their £14.99 silver kylie bikini.
I therefore ended up avoiding those shops even though I just wanted a look and stuck to other shops. but it seems with all the new seasons clothes everyone is in a big hurry. In fact we were almost run over by a mobility scooter in Marks. Its not that I don't sympathise but its like as soon as these people get a scooter and are let loose they just go. God forbid you are in the way.
It was a very tired Wendy who packed everything in the car at day end and wended my way down the A2 to the delightful nursery rhyme cd that keeps madam quiet in the back of the car...the wheels on the bus go round and round............
Friday saw us go swimming with Leigh and Ami ,our baby friends. Ami LOVES the water as Leigh dunks her under she comes up laughing in delight. My little angel is less certain that this pool is a good thing and is happiest when i perch her on the side and she quietly plays with the water lapping over the sides. When lily is with other babies I realise how quiet and placid she is. she much preferred it when we went for lunch later and Leigh was giving her rice cakes and playing with her while Ami slept(tired out from all the joyful playing and swimming)
so far this weekend the weather has been terrible we had a short afternoon out to Bromley to buy a new shower curtain and to get me new jeans. the shower curtain was no problem but my jeans are just a nightmare. highlight for Lily was the Jamaican steel band which she woke up to hear , laughed and clapped and then promptly fell asleep again when we were out of range of them. Her aunty Ronnie thinks she was a rasta in a previous life!
Hope everyone else had a good weekend

does anyone hear a high pitched sound?
Anyway since it opened as i enter and leave the store there is this high pitched sound that really hurts my ears. I get out of there as quick as possible. I have always assumed it was from the dry cleaners. It really annoys me actually so the other day when Kristian and I went there I said to him isn't that sound so annoying? He claims he cant hear anything. I was like "yes you can silly" no he insists there is no noise at all.
I thought nothing of it until today when i was listening to a local SE London radio station. On the news they have a story of this trail that Greenwich borough are doing putting high pitched sounds that only people under 20 can hear around places where troublesome teenagers gather.
So now marks can be assured that no teenagers or nearly 30 mothers will be loitering around their shop.
kristian thinks its a load of baloney.......... only cause you are too old to hear it , dear!
70's nostolgia
Kristian s mum , Michele ( Lily's nana) came up to London arriving at 1 pm to look after our precious for the night.(sob Sob)
We had been invited to our friend Tynes surprise 30Th birthday party on the Saturday night and it was a 70's cocktail party. we decided to go and leave Lily with her Nana.
Designated Dave (ie ME) drove us all to Walton on Thames all suited and booted in our 70's attire. We took cath who is about 8 months pregnant and her husband Gav as well as Carol (Gav's mum) and Kristian and I.
We got there on time and the men folk immediately found their way to the booze and that was the start. a great time was had by all. Tyne had a great surprise birthday. The menfolk in my car were suitably pissed (which made for an interesting drive home) and our lovely Lily was very good for her nana and we arrived home to a quiet house and fell into bed.
Michele very kindly kept Lily quiet and we slept till 9(bliss) and then had a quiet day around the house and a quick walk to the park. Not a walk actually more a food stop as Kristian had the munchies and was hungry again after his 2 rounds of bacon sandwiches, so we made it as far as "the honest sausage" which is a sweet little free range sausage stall in the park. Kristian has a "park porker" which filled the hole and we bumped into the Davis's again and they too needed park porkers(one being preggers , one being hung over and one being on her holidays) So poor weight watchers me just had a diet coke. I had had a bacon sarnie earlier though so don't feel too bad for me.
So another week begins. I am counting down the days till my mummy comes to visit for my 30TH birthday. I just cant believe in a few weeks my 20s will be over(sob)
otherwise I have the usual baby group on Tuesday and plenty of walking around with the lilster.
we have a weigh day for Lily this week as well and I pray she has put on weight. she seems to be eating well.
I will put some party photos up (don't worry Cath not many of you) so you can see how funny we all looked. Kristian and Gav had not spoken to each other and dressed the same it was pure coincidence.
