CHRISTMAS IS COMING!!!!

Hello all

well here we are on the verge of Lilys first christmas and our long awaited trip to Cape Town YIPPEEEE!!!

Lily is now 18 weeks old . well she was yesterday. We went out to a pub lunch with some friends in wandsworth. I think Lily takes after me as a child as she is so shy and does not want to go to anyone besides Sandy who she was alright with but she just distracts her and takes her off to see things. I reckon after her trip home she may be cured.

she is still having her baby rice once a day and gets so excited when I bring her little purple bowl out. She gobbles it all up. In preparation for when I want to give her some veg and fruit purees I have got a steamer and hand blender and made her some sweet potato and carrot. It made so little though so i have learnt to use more! Oh well you live and learn. so now I just have to make the pear and apple ones and we will be there. Besides actually feeding her the stuff.

On the developmental front she is wanting to be pulled up into a standing position and sitting position all the time. she is quite tiring. When she is sitting she will sit alone for a few seconds and then fall over. We are still waiting for her to roll but keeping a close eye on her in case of accidents. she is grabbing her toys and her feet now as well. Her toys are finally of interest to her and you can distract her with them :)

She is now in the big bath as well with a support thing and has started splashing much better. I come out looking like a drowned rat

So we just have this week here in lovely Blackheath and then we are off to Verwood in Dorset to Kristians mum for a week and a bit for Christmas. It seems to be getting colder this week. The temp has dropped so perhaps a white christmas!

Hope you all have a lovely christmas

Much love

Wendy and Lily

4 months!!

Hello all

Lily is now 4 months old . she is absolutely wonderful and changing every day. Its been a great month as we started swimming which tires her out no end. Its so funny as we swim . Well I hold her under her arms but she kicks her feet like mad. i cant get her to really laugh though its as though she is really concentrating. i dunked her under the water on friday but it did not go well. In fact i am surprised she still likes water as when we got home I gave her a bath in the big bath to wash off the pool water and it was slippy and she slipped onto her side that did not go down well either!!

Anyhow back at the pool as soon as we get out I dress her and myself and then have some tea and feed her. its takes all her energy to eat and then she is fast asleep.

we put up our christmas tree today which was lovely and Lily loved all the lights. I will post a piccie of her looking at them. we had a lovely walk today into Blackheath Village and she was all cosy in her hat and sleeping bag. she loves it. never slept a wink though. I ask all the other new mums I meet. how much sleep do you get in the day. All more than our Little Lily!!

I am so looking forward to our trip home to cape Town. Lily has her passport now so is all ready to travel. cant wait to have her meet all her new friends and to see her old ones. she has had a few Capetonian visitors. The greens and then Gavs mum Carol. we went shopping and she was really good except the trip home where she screamed ( sorry carol) this is a trick that she has learnt and its awful. shes good as gold all the way there but put her in the car to come home and she crys the whole way.

I have my baby rice at the ready to start weaning. Nana Michele bought her a bowl and the rice. we tried some and she sort of had it in her mouth . her feeding has been so good since that I dont think she needs it just yet. i am getting myself sorted to make all my organic veggie and fruit purees. I ope she likes them.
The oictures are Lily with her new passport and the one in her chair is her looking a the lights on the tree

love to all
