skylon

I went to a fabulous restaurant last night called Skylon. Its another Conran restaurant ( went to Quaglianos with dinner club) My dear friend Sandi turned...27 is it Sands? She arrived looking fabulous in her "hoochie mama" dress and heels . We went to the bar which overlooks the thames and had cocktails and a glass of champagne. I managed to eat so many of the nibbles that they were replenished 3 times ..blush..
If you ever come to London or even if you live here already its worth a visit for a special occasion.
On that note Happy birthday Sandi. !

on my mind

So I have been a little uninspired recently. Not blogging , not being creative etc.
One thing that is constant with me is my web surfing and love of pretty things. here's a few things I have been looking at

yes this is a moses basket. We are hoping to have another baby but so far I am just frustrated and obsessed (ha ha ..) but we never got a bassinet for lily and I have no idea why. they look so lovely and are so great to move around. I like this one from Marks. very simple. perhaps a bit more girly than boyish though...
Monsoon . without a doubt my favorite clothing store. quite ethnic at times which is probably why its up my street. Their fabric is sublime. If someone could just have a nice evening wedding I could wear this off shoulder bright coral dress.
Or a garden party or ladies lunch. How divine is this one. this is like my perfect dress. I totally love it.

Now here is a weird thing. Many of you probably think thee are ugly but I have a clog wooden heel thing. These are on trend for the season and I would know, I sold 3 pairs over the weekend. they are jones bootmaker. I can picture myself standing in one place or sitting in them all night!
Cath Kidson. Love her vintage prints and all her products, from homewares to bags. this bucket bag is on my list of things I need. but FYI if I EVER fall pregnant I want the baby bag.. maybe this could do both. anyhoo I love it.
and that ladies and gentlemen is my short list of things I have looked at online today. Hope you enjoyed

just for kids

If you don't have children or never have to entertain children then look away now as this won't interest you.
Colouring in. what child does not like to colour? Mine is colouring mad and can get through a colouring book in next to no time as at 3 attention to detail is not so important to her. I did however see a picture my lovely little god daughter , Sarah was colouring the other day and was so proud of all that colouring in the lines I saw! (you see we don't only gush abut our own children ,but our friends too)
So if your little one watches cbeebies they will be familiar with the characters and would love to colour them in. go to the cbeebies website and click on colouring and you will find loads of pages you can print out for them to colour.

books. so I have more books to recommend for children. I have recently discovered Emily Gravett. I think I like the books more than lily though. The illustrations are so beautiful. We have meerkat mail at the moment and its lovely.
The wild things. Its just been made into a film but the book is much loved. Its got great illustrations and Lily is strangely amazed by "the wild things". helped by the fact that her daddy got an app for her where she can play with the character on screen Carol is her favorite. And Isla she tells me tonight.
I am still a huge winnie the witch fan. cant get enough of those books.

Micro scooters. I am saving for one of these for lily. They are small, lightweight and fold up. I see kids of 18 months scootering all over on these things. they are great for school runs or trips to the park or just in your back yard. great for coordination and ..well..fun!

hope those few thumbs up will help.

this is what inspires me

Caroline told us her inspirations and thereby inspired me to share mine

plants and flowers and gardening inspires me. In the past few years I have become so excited by gardening. I cant quite believe it myself. Today I had a strange feeling about me. I was nervous and sad all in one. I decided to go out and pull out some dead plants in my garden and just tidy it up ready for my spring planting plan. the more I worked and dug and saw some bulbs coming through the better I felt. gardening earths me and it makes me feel grounded and happy. planting and watching things grow gives me great inspiration .

creative artistic working with my hands inspires me. whether its sculpting , sewing , drawing , beading or scrapbooking. I like creating objects of beauty.

architecture and buildings . When I walk down the southbank in London I love the skyline. I love the gerkin blending into st Paul's cathedral. I love the building my husband works in in Greenwich . its the old naval college. its quite inspirational. and don't even get me started on Paris.

the people in my life inspire me every day. My mum inspires me by lifting my spirits on a weekly basis at the moment. she must feel like its a full time job but she still does it because she my mum . she inspires me to be a brilliant mum like her. My husband inspires me with his absolute dedication to his interests and hobbies and his natural parenting ability is quite astounding. I have friends and family that bring out the best in me.

my daughter . I want to be the best mum to her. I want to make the right choices for her. her kind sweet nature is an inspiration to me. I am loving watching her grow up

people with something about them inspire me. I like people with quirks and interests. I like a sense of style. I like it when people love things. when they are passionate about things. Don't be wishy washy I don't love anything blah blah.

food. beautiful , sumptuous food. lovely crisp wine , sparkling prosecco, decadent desserts . what on earth could be more inspirational than that?
