day trip

On Saturday we did a great trip into London , taking the train into charing cross station , with Lily loudly telling the whole carriage which stop would be coming next. Picture this you leave your station and then a small toddler shouts Lewisham , Lewisham, Lewisham next stop Mummeeeeeee!
well it was not quite that bad but she is absolutely loving railway stops.
We then take the number 9 bus all the way up pall mall and Piccadilly, along Hyde Park, getting off at the royal Albert hall, just a hop , skip and a jump from the natural history museum. They have a wonderful dinosaur exhibit there and lots of fossils as well.Animals of all kind actually. stuffed you understand but very informative way of learning. Being the 150th anniversary of the publication of Darwin's On the origin of species and the 200th anniversary of Darwin's birth there is a Darwin special exhibit and they have moved his statue to the steps. Lily of course approached it and exclaimed "Look Daddy Father Crimpas" (christmas)
This is why children are such a joy.
After looking around for a couple of hours we went to next doors V&A museum which is my personal favorite. They are having a Stephen Jones exhibition of hats showing Millinery through the ages. Oh how I would love to be a milliner. Oh what do you do " oh I am a milliner" I would say.
The tea rooms there are quite spectacular as well which is always a make or break for me. You had me at fabulous tea rooms.
A wonderful day!

Looks like you all had a stunning day out on the town! Lily's at lovely age to take about now. Jake loved the N.H.M. and the dinosaurs were a real hit. He's so into that at the moment.
