I have discovered Westfield shopping centre. Its in Shepard bush. No expense spared..at all. Absolutely the most fab place ever. Even the food hall is amazing. funky seating , unusual foods like Vietnamese street food and french fast food and a risotto take away. It was heaven. Come to London and I will take you to heaven.
I am developing more of a social life. This week I have 2 mummy and toddler dates and diddi dancing class. over the weekend i went away to friends Jason and Sandi and had a wonderful time
its getting warmer. Yay. And I just want to tell all the capetonians ..DO NOT tell me its too hot. Its only been hot what .. a ?month. It will get cooler. I have been indoors for 5 months now. Finding things for a toddler to do inside for 5 months. Its not easy. also NO SUN! ok you can complain if you are pregnant as I totally understand. Ok you can complain as I love you all but you have nice weather there...really...you do!
I saw some crocus's and daffs today springing out everywhere from under the trees to behind my bin. Spring is around the corner and its such a wonderful time of the year. It makes me feel hopeful
I am surrounded by pregnant people at the moment. I swear any minute now Kristian will tell me he is pregnant.
I saw "he's not that into you" with my London girlfriends on Thursday night. It is a great film. very entertaining and thought provoking in parts. Lailaa very kindly invited us to her apartment in Canary wharf where we looked out over the Thames and the city for a couple of hours before going to the cinema. It was a great night.
My little Lily is getting to be such a big girl now at times I cant believe it. Today as we were walking home from the park hand in hand she tripped and spiralled around me unable to stop. She burst into fits of giggles along with me and the two of us just sat on the pavement laughing away. Its like she is a real little person now with her mummy's black sense of humour. falling is my weakness. don't fall around me, I laugh and laugh. I know its horrible..sorry
Its 2 and a half months till my mum arrives in London
I am keeping half an ear on my phone all the time as I think my friend is going to go into labour soon.
I think the pussycat dolls are an awful influence on young girls. i see them gyrating around dressed like tarts and singing about wanting cars and money and boobs and I despair. I do however love Beyonce's new songs and Lily Allen's new song and the new U2 song. I am listening to the twilight soundtrack constantly in my car. I keep forgetting to put new Cd's in so to and fro from work I just listen to that. I know all the words
Its shrove Tuesday tomorrow so pancakes for dinner. how exciting.
I am longing for Cape Town at the moment more than ever. Cant seem to snap out of it at all. November seems a looong way away
I am finally painting my bright yellow bedroom a nice magnolia colour in the next few weeks. Now I can have a headache in there in peace.
and that as they say, is that...

Great post, lovely to know all that you've been up to!!
I love summer and we are blessed with beautiful weather. Our children are so lucky to be able to run around barefooted in shorts and t-shirts for so many beautiful months of the year. I don't know how you survive that miserable weather you get over there!! Seriously. But, as you say, spring is just around the corner and it is, by far, the most beautiful time of year, so enjoy it as we face autumn and the dreaded winter... yuck!
Lots of love,
Sue xxx
BTW - Jake loves that song, it's too funny...
And PS. You're so lucky to be in such an exciting place, will definitely try get there to experience your new centre. Remember, you promised...
Counting the weeks till I am with you...then we can laugh together...as long as it is not about me falling down!!! Can't wait to see that shopping centre, but more importantly cannot wait to see the three of you. Love and hugs...Mumxxxx
I am the first comment here! I love reading new blogs. I am SO HAPPY that your social life is taking off. There are so many lovely things to do in London and it makes such a difference to one's happiness and sense of belonging somewhere when you make a circle of friends! You will always miss Cape Town, your family and us of course (;) but it is good you are making a life for yourself there. I missed shrove Tuesday, but then i don't need an excuse to make pancakes, so I probably will do so this week. I too think I will go into labour soon, despite what my doc says. I reckon next week. Oh, and the weather really is sooo hot here, really it is hectic!
