I am finally married. 11 years on in a fabulous relationship and we are finally joined as man and wife. Many people say things like "its so much money for just one day" but, its not just one day. Its a beatiful , emotional life changing day. It was like a sensory experience for me. I felt my loved ones gather around me. I felt everyones excitement and love. The night before I had these big massive butterflies in my tummy. The next day I savoured everything from my morning tea and muffin to Heidi , my hairdresser curling my hair. My mum , mother in law, daughter and 2 best friends gathered around me in the cottage as they helped me dress. A circle of woman preparing me for this special day.
I walked in the winter sunshine arm in arm with my dad to the ceremony with Lily and Caroline follwing behind. As we arrived the bagpipes began to play and we walked up the old stone steps. I looked at everyones faces and I drank them in. All my special people come to witness our marriage. Kristian looked so nervous but as we looked at each other I could feel him relax. The ceremony was just as I wanted it. personal and touching. It meant everything to me.
the sun was still beating down on me I can still feel it if I close my eyes. Veronica read 2 of the most beautiful pieces. here is the E E Cummings poem. I dare you to read it and not cry as I did
"I carry your heart with me
(I carry it in my heart)
I am never without it
(anywhere I go you go , my dear: and whatever i done by only me is your doing darling
I fear no fate
(for you are my fate ,my sweet)
I want no world
(for beautiful you are my world , my true)
and its you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sig is you
here is the deepest secret nobody knows:
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called iife:
which grows higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide
and this is the wonder thats keeping the stars apart
I carry your heart
(I carry it in my heart)
Here I began to cry. It was so special not only for us but for all our dear friends and family that bore witness
Patrick , our celbrant spoke of our love and lives ,helped on by Kristians beautiful letter he wrote about me. I battled to say my vows as I swear my throat closed. I was overcome by emotion. We symbolically lit our wedding candle together and then we kissed. Joined in matrimony.
The piper led us up to the manor house and we signed the register and patrick annouced us MR Kristian Peter and Mrs Wendy Mora Humble
Tiny fynbos confetti was showered over us. I had champagne. I had canapes I chatted and soaked in the moment. I did not miss a thing.
We entered the cellar to madness ( it must be love) and everyone sat clapping and cheering us on. The food was divine , the cake was amazing and the dancing was truley the best fun I have had in a long time.
Kristian and I were going to have Frank sinatra. Ive got you under my skin as our first dance but instead we opted for whams love machine. very us.
Thank you to everyone present and not that wished us well and thought of us on Saturday. Itmeant the world

Personally I think they are one of the most important things of the day because you'll have them forever, and they are a little more reliable than memory :)... What a gorgeous day you must have had.... Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!!!

Yes darling, it was a beautiful day indeed. You looked radiant and so very happy. Kristian very handsome and happy. You have an 11 year foundation so you are set for life. It was indeed a wonderful day. The amount of e.mails, texts and phone calls we have had says it all. It was a joyous occasion and I think one of the ingredients that made it so was that everyone there knew everyone and have done so for many years. Be happy darlings. Love you more than words can say. Mum xxxx
I am so behind with my blogging, I've only just read this post. It was a magic wedding and I'm so glad that I was there to share your special day with you!!
